I want to again thank you all for your support in this contest and also the previous contest I had participated in. I am tired and yet very happy that I did both of them back to back! Now I can relax for a bit and play with some or all of the entries and perhaps even come up with a few new kits as the result of all the designing I've been doing. I know that at the least I have several new things to use as a starting point.

Help me name my new Kitten

This adorable little fellow found me during the fireworks display at a local fair! I figure he is about 8 or 10 weeks old, not sure about that though. He is a totally little feral boy that came hiding around my hubby’s concession stand during the release of the fireworks and was just so scared! That is my arm he is sleeping on in the picture. He has a kooky little habit of putting his nose against mine and then proceeding with trying to nibble my nose! He gives great kitty hugs/head butts too. He is a clinging vine as well when he knowsI'm up he wants out of the crate and to be my second skin. ( I tried letting in bed with me the first night, but he had a accident in bed, so now it's the crate at night, at least until he and the litter box become better acquainted.) He is also terrified of the dogs here, another reason for the crate, so he can become acclimated to the dogs and barking and such. Also so they get used to him and give up trying to chase him around the house when he gets on the floor. I'm using it to protect him form them mainly, I have a winter blanket over the top of it to make a cave for him to hide in.

Now, the problem, I need some suggestions as to what to name him, please? Right at the moment I'm calling him Charlie, but I'm not happy with that so I'm asking for suggestions.

Big Scare Today!

I thought I had really messed up my computer badly today! I had downloaded and installed a program to update my device drivers and used it once successfully. Well today I decided to get another driver and update it, BAD MOVE! The driver I downloaded and installed messed up my keyboard and mouse in a way that they wouldn’t work! I fought with this silly machine for hours and finally managed to get it to do a restore point for me and THAT finally worked. Be VERY careful what you download! Even if it appears to be something to improve your machine, you just don’t know what it might do!

Oh and while I”m on the subject, NEVER try to defrag your registry?!?! It just doesn’t like it and it will really mess with your computer! I did it and had to reformat, and reinstall everything afterwards! If you don’t know exactly what you are doing the best thing is allow your computer do download updates for you. That way you know the update is compatible with your operating system and machine, or go directly to the manufacturer’s site and download the updates form them!

Trying Something New!

This is a module that is in Vista that allows me to add new content from my desktop directly into my blog. I am just giving it a trial run to see how it works. This just might be what I need to stay a bit more current on my blog. It works very well actually and I think it just might keep me busy adding new content.

My furry lap warmer, Tinkerbelle, has passed away.

My son in law buried her near the house so I can visit her grave. I know she is no longer in pain now, but I do miss her. I was more relieved that she is no longer suffering. I am crying as I write this, but this is really the first time I've had to stop and think about her today. After I took her to the vet, she seemed better, but the next day she couldn't even stand up properly and scooted on the floor mostly. I knew then that she was going to leave me.
I was supposed to take her back to the vet the next day, but I knew it was of no use when I saw how she had given up, she just didn't have the will to live any longer. The hardest part was having to let her stay confined for her own protection. The dogs would have sensed her weakness and possibly attacked her. Yesterday I let her out for awhile and she managed to crawl into her litter box, but then couldn't get back out. I had to take the top off and lift her back out, she had even started having seizures this last week. I figured the best thing for her was to just let her alone so she could go to the bridge.
The vet said she had horrible plaque on her teeth and that was most likely the source of her infection. If I had thought about it more clearly a few weeks ago, I might have had time to help her more. They could have cleaned her teeth and possibly saved her, but that is only speculation.
She has lived a full and loved life, except for the last few days when she was suffering so. I even caught my self wishing she could just give up and be at peace. I told her often the last few days how very sorry I was that I had been so distracted with other things that I hadn't noticed her problem. I also told her often how very much I loved her and that I would miss her, but it was best that she go on without me at least for now.

Lyme Disease Awareness Kits

Factiod: Doctors say that the classic sign of Lyme's Disease is the "Bullseye or Target Rash", but don't think that because you didn't see this that you are safe! The rash doesn't always appear in this pattern, and you could still be infected.

Due to unforeseeable circumstances My kit in not accessible even to me! So a dear friend has allowed me to offer you the kit that she made in it's place. Thanks Liz, you are a gem!

Lyme Desease - Horrific Disease

There will be a new freebie coming soon. It is in support of Lyme Disease Awareness Month. This is a horrific disease that is appearing more and more in the world. I read one statistic that it is becoming even more prevalent than AIDs now. People are missdiagnosed frequently and doctors are being penalized for helping those that suffer with the condition.

Please read up on the symptoms and treatments and be aware of this hideous malady for your own, your family and friends sake! Turm the Corner is an organization that is dedicated to making the population aware of this. Check out thier site and be careful!

K-Ming's My Litttle Trinkus aka Munchkin

This is a picture from the Miniature Sharpei Club of America 2004 Nationals.

This was Munchkin's first show and mine as an owner, but I wasn't able to show her this time, I was acting as the ring steward that day. A wonderful friend's daughter did show her and she won several blue ribons in the puppy classes that day, I was so very proud of her. In fact this was the day we meet as well, she got to come home with me after the show was over and has been a constant companion ever since then. We did take her to another show after this one, but she seemed so very oncomfortable that day that I decided it was for the best if she retired from the show circuit and be a lovable home body which she has really shined at since.

Since I have been tagged it was explained to me that now I get to pass the torch to 6 more lucky bloggers.

They are in turn to go to their "My Pictures" folder on their computer and select the 6th, (or 5th, 4th, 3ed, 2ed, or 1st which ever applies), folder there, then to select the 6th picture in that folder and put it on their blog and write about it. Below is the list of selected blogs I have picked.

Things Have been Popping

Things have certainly been popping around my house. With the new designers position I now have a new CT Team member and have uploaded several items into the K-Joi Studios Store! Although I had heard rumors about Zen Cart, I didn't find it too terribly difficult to navigate, thankfully. The reports, are an entirely different story though, that I will leave for the experts, LOL!

I have designed a new 12 X 12 inches (30.48 X 30.48 Cm) glitter sheet set I call, "Jumbo Glitter Gems." It includes 14 separate sheets done totally in a single precious stone color. And for the taggers among you there is a smaller 300 X 300 px version called, "Glitter Gems." Both sets are Commercial use friendly, but please read the Terms of Use included in every zip file to be sure.

I've also uploaded several sets of premade Photoshop version 7 brushes. They can also be used in PSE6 and include the .png files that nearly all graphics programs will recognize and can use, even users of Paint Shop Pro!

K-Joi is up and running again! Only the shop to be moved and linked up and as soon as that's done the remaining round of judging for the new K-Joi designers will commence! Contestants have been chatting in the forum for the last day or so getting re-acquainted with each other. It is going to be a wonderful time when things are finally ready.

The rumor on the forum is that all 4 weeks of the contest entries will be available in the shop for download as soon as the shop is opened up again. That means that there will be nearly 100 freebie kits to choose from for you downloading pleasure! Goodness you might even fill a hard drive with all the goodies there.

I just received my new graphics tablet today! WOW & WOO HOO !!!! I'm playing with it trying to figure out how to coordinate hand and eye movements. It was so simple to install and fairly simple to use as well. It is even able to do signatures, draw, annotate documents and I think I'm in heaven!

If I get good at using it I will post some doodles for you all to download. This is amazing and I can't wait to practice with it so I'm off here to see what I can come up with.

More Good news from K-Joi Studios! It should only be a few more days and everything should be on the new servers! I can just imagine that by the first of the week, that everything will be up and running! So stay tuned and I will let you know just as soon as I know that things are back in order and ready to roll.

You can also check out the K-Joi Studio blog to keep abreast of what's happening there. Kara is doing a wonderful job of keeping things posted about the change over to the new servers. I know that I can't wait for everything to be moved. She did post today that he forums will be down until they are moved so that none of the posts would be lost.

I just know that all of the designer contestants, the Joi-De Vivre, are on pins and needles with anticipation for the announcement and go ahead for the final round of voting. Everything has been turned in and the voting will begin as soon as the forum is moved and enabled. Oh My! The waiting is soooo hard!! LOL!

Hi again,

I do have to apologize to anyone that downloaded the kit before today. I had saved all the files in PSP format. I have changed the files now and they will work in either PSP or Photoshop. Thankfully a very nice lady pointed this out to me so I could change it.

This was one of the first kits I ever made and was pretty green as a designer about how to save things for downloading. The file is much smaller now and will work in PS. Again I apologize for the inconvenience.

Just a little note to let you know that K-Joi is moving to a new hosting company and may experience some down times in the process. Kara is working madly to get things smoothed out for everyone and I know she won't stop until things are back to normal. She has started a blog to keep everyone updated to the progress of the move. The designer contestants have chosen a name for themselves, Joi Di Vive! It means, Joy of Life and I must admit the the contestants definitely fulfill that label.
